About the role

Bury Library Service are looking to recruit a part time Community Library Assistant 17 hours week. The successful candidate will be working on Tuesday 9.30 - 4.30, Wednesday 9.30 - 4.30 and Saturday 9.00-1.00 working primarily at Bury Library but will be expected to cover other libraries in the borough.

Do you have a lively and enthusiastic personality; a love of books; experience of using IT applications, excellent customer care skills and enjoy working with children and people of all ages and backgrounds? If so, we want to hear from you.

Reporting to the Library Supervisors you will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive range of library and public information services. This will include cash handling, assisting customers with digital queries, shelving books and other library duties.

Evidence of working with the public and of dealing with customer enquiries is essential. You will be working as part of team, so must have good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to assist and support customers and external partners.
