CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator Location: Birmingham, West Midlands Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 per annum Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator to join a precision engineering workshop in Birmingham. This is a full-cycle machining role — ideal for someone confident in programming, setting, and producing high-precision components with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC turning and milling machines
- Work with XYZ CNC platforms, ideally with FANUC, ProtoTRAK, or Siemens controls
- Interpret and machine components directly from engineering blueprints
- Handle the complete process from initial setup to finished part production
- Use micrometers, verniers, and gauges to check part accuracy
- Thrive in a small, fast-paced workshop environment
Provide flexible support for on-site emergency breakdowns when required Key Requirements
- Proven CNC machining experience (programming, setting, operating)
- Skilled with XYZ CNC machines (FANUC / ProtoTRAK / Siemens desirable)
- Excellent blueprint literacy and machining precision
- Proficient with manual inspection tools and working to tight tolerances
- Self-sufficient, reliable, and proactive approach to work
