What Your Role Will Involve:
As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you'll be instrumental in creating a nurturing, homely environment. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Empowering Young People: Encourage residents to engage in activities, develop life skills, and take increasing responsibility for their lives.
- Maintaining a Safe & Nurturing Home: Uphold a friendly, homely culture and ensure a safe, supportive environment for all.
- Managing Challenging Behaviours: Confidently and sympathetically support young people through challenging behaviours, always ensuring their safety.
- Individualised Support: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of each child's care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred communication methods.
- Building Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, psychologists, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives.
What We're Looking For:
- Resilience and Empathy: The ability to support young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties in a holistic and integrated way.
- Full Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL: Due to the nature of the role and activities involved, you must have a full driving licence and access to a car to transport children as needed.
- NVQ Level 3 (Preferred): While not essential for application, holding an NVQ Level 3 Children & Young People qualification is highly preferred. We offer full funding to achieve this if you don't already have it!
