We prioritise creating enjoyable roles within positive environments in which staff are fully supported to deliver care that promotes the wellbeing of our young people. Our teams are thoroughly trained and equipped to provide therapeutic care, and all staff must be willing to work towards Level 3 Health & Social Care. We create nurturing and safe homes for our young people to develop their independence, confidence and wellbeing. Ty Caredig care for young people aged 7 to 17, who can sometimes present challenging behaviour associated with traumatic backgrounds.
The shift pattern for a Senior Support Worker is 2 full days including sleep-ins, handing over the following morning, then 4 days off.
All staff must be willing and able to drive company cars to transport our young people to activities, free time and family contact. A full manual driving licence is therefore required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Encouraging positive engagements with activities and sports
- Adopting a trauma informed therapeutic approach to nurture the development of our young people
- Developing the independent living skills of our young people
- Carrying out household tasks
- Supporting family contact
- Taking ownership on shift in decision making and escalation
