THIS IS A 7 month contract for a YEAR ROUND POSITION NOT TERM TIME ONLY.
Your working days will be a FRIDAY 8:30-2:15 every week ( additional hours may be required to be worked to cover holiday/sickness.)
You will be working as part of a well established friendly and welcoming team at our Family Centre within the heart of the local community. We are a fully inclusive, non-judgemental safe play space for people to come and enjoy a drink and some food, whilst engaging in activities with their children and meeting others to socialise with in our fantastic centre.
· Plan and facilitate regular activities in the centre such as make and take sessions, sensory play sessions and activities to capture the needs of the service users.
· Be able to work independently and use own initiative as well as part of a team.
· Be confident to speak to service users, engage in conversations to make them feel warm and welcomed in to the centre, be able to find out information and signpost on to other external agencies where required.
· Have experience and a good understanding or willingness to learn of Autistic Spectrum Conditions and ADHD to be able to support service users and educate the wider community in line with our charity objects.
· Be willing to undertake training courses in Autism and ADHD.
Be willing to train in the kitchen.
· It is essential that you must be willing to tend to all cleaning duties required, this will include cleaning toilets, hoovering and mopping but is not restricted to just those, This can be a physically demanding role as we have external equipment in the playground.
· Displays excellent organisational skills.
· Is reliable, approachable, punctual, motivated and fun
During a typical session the role would include:
Setting up activities inside and outside,
Welcoming families in and interacting with them
Ensuring the activities room/area is clean and tidy, resources are accessible and relevant to the days activity
Completing necessary paperwork - accident/incident forms, any evaluation / feedback forms, daily centre checklists etc.
Desirable Criteria:
Paediatric First Aid
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
Level 2 Food Hygiene
