Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our care team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a care home environment and a strong understanding of food safety and meal preparation. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes while maintaining the standards of our kitchen. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements of residents.
- Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area
- Collaborate with care staff to ensure timely service at meal times
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with food preparation as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices, regulations and documentation
- Experience with special dietary requirements, pureed diets and dysphagia is preferred
- Ability to perform meal preparation tasks efficiently and accurately
- Excellent culinary skills with a passion for cooking
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A team player who can help foster a positive kitchen atmosphere
