Job Description: Head Cook
Shift Pattern:
10.30am -5.30pm
Monday - Friday
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, prepare and cook food in a safe manner to meet dietary requirements
- Plan and execute menus, ensuring high-quality and consistent food preparation, Varied menu which changes at least seasonally.
- Be able to provide a well balanced diet for residents with medical conditions or faiths which require special diets.
- Control stock and purchases, keeping the purchase of materials within the allocated budget.
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with management to develop new recipes and menu items
- Have good personal and communication skills, and the ability to interact with residents and resolve any issues related to food quality or service
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Cook or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques and practices
- Strong communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
