ABOUT THE ROLE
Goodlord’s mission is to provide the best renting experience in the world and we’re on the hunt for a Business Development Manager, reporting directly to our Director of B2C Partnerships, to help us achieve this.
As a key member of the Business to Consumer Partnerships (B2CP) team, your primary responsibility will be to engage with our existing letting agent clients. You will consult with them, promote, and monitor their utilisation of our energy, broadband, and utility bundling products, which are designed for both letting agents and tenants.
You must have experience in B2B sales and be comfortable upselling products to letting agents in a consultative manner to agents who already use our products. You will ideally have a good understanding of the lettings cycle to help support our letting agents maximise their growth through our product ranges, familiarity with domestic utilities is helpful but not essential.
No two days are ever the same at Goodlord so what you’ll be up to will vary. The pace we move at also means priorities will change and you’ll need to be comfortable with this (we’ll support you!). But these are the things that will be core to your role and will keep you busy.
The day to day stuff:
Manage High-Value Accounts: Own and maximise growth in Goodlord's top accounts, delivering exceptional value alongside others.
Achieve Targets and KPIs: Consistently meet or exceed annual revenue, retention, and upsell targets through consultative sales (identifying around 40-50 opportunities each month)
Build and Cultivate Relationships: Develop strong relationships with client decision-makers to drive product adoption and longer-term contracts.
Data-Driven Strategy: Use data to monitor performance, identify growth opportunities, and strategically target customers, communicating insights for enhanced engagement and commercial returns.
Consultative Selling: Engage with customers at all levels, adapting approaches to deliver tailored solutions aligned with business objectives.
Stay Informed: Keep abreast of competitor activities and industry trends, providing informed advice and consultative support with confidence in industry legislation. Also communicating with our Account Managers to help identify opportunities
Feedback and Improvement: Gather and relay customer feedback to internal teams to shape product enhancements and improve customer experience.

you have proven success in closing B2B sales, this can be new business, up-selling, cross-selling or closing experience.
you are able to establish rapport and trust with people quickly and effectively over the phone and face-to-face
you are enthusiastic about setting the pace and enjoy healthy competition
you have excellent spoken and written English, with outstanding communication skills
you are target-driven and motivated with a positive and resilient attitude, and can maintain it even under pressure
you are able to work autonomously and you're comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
you have strong IT literacy: you will be expected to produce various reports and presentations
you are super organised and have proven your ability to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
you get on with everyone and anyone and adapt your style to communicate most effectively with them

ABOUT US
We started Goodlord because we wanted to make renting simple and transparent for everyone involved: the agent, landlord and tenant. We knew Generation Rent would lead to more tenants, with higher digital expectations and we were confident we could provide a solution.
And we did. Like all startups it’s been a bit of a roller coaster journey, but we’re now stronger than ever, with around 3000 letting agents using the platform, exciting & varied product lines and over 300 Goodlordians across the group supporting the mission!
