Are you a proactive and engaging individual looking for a unique and rewarding role? We are seeking a dedicated live-in assistant/support worker to provide 24-hour support for a young man in his mid-20s with a brain injury. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in someone's life, helping them to live as independently as possible.
The Role
Based in Nottingham, you will provide full-time, live-in support with all aspects of daily living. This is a non-personal care role and there are no complex health issues. Your main duties will include:
- Providing 24-hour support to a vulnerable adult.
- Assisting with all daily activities of living, including household tasks and managing appointments.
- Supporting and accompanying the client in the community, including social outings and activities.
- Driving the client to appointments and social activities is a mandatory part of this role.
- Motivating and encouraging engagement with a wide range of activities.
About Our Client
Our client is a young man in his mid-20s who has a brain injury. He is a huge fan of Nottingham Forest football and enjoys watching and talking about cricket. He loves socialising and getting out and about, especially to pubs and, with the right support, would love to go clubbing. He needs a lot of motivation to engage with activities outside of his main interests, so a creative and encouraging approach is essential.
We're Looking for Someone Who Is:
- Motivating and engaging: You have a can-do attitude and the ability to inspire and encourage someone.
- Proactive and reliable: You can take initiative and manage your time effectively to support the client's needs.
- Patient and empathetic: You are able to understand and work with the challenges that come with a brain injury.
- A driver with their own vehicle: This is a mandatory requirement for the role.
- A good match: A shared interest in football, cricket, or socialising is a plus, but a positive attitude and a willingness to help are what's most important.
