AWS DevOps Lead

London – Hybrid, 1 to 2 days per week in the office

We are looking for an AWS DevOps Lead to join the team as we continue to develop new products and features for our clients. You will be responsible for managing the team, continuing our AWS migration and driving platform strategy across the business.

What you’ll be working on:

  • Being the go-to expert for everything AWS-related, owning our AWS platform and staying up to date with new AWS features

  • Support the migration of remaining elements to AWS

  • Development of infrastructure through reusable code with automated tooling and tests, while being an expert on the toolset

  • Use of metrics and monitoring information to ensure performance and reliability

  • Understand the complexities of working with multi-tier applications, capacity testing and scaling of distributed systems

  • Delivery of new features and tooling for both business and technical stakeholders

  • Collaboration with technical teams to help define a platform for the future

  • Responsible for managing and overseeing the DevOps team, ensuring smooth delivery of infrastructure and deployment processes

About the team:

  • You will join a technical team of approximately 40 technologists with a key purpose of continuously and reliably collecting large amounts of financial data describing cross-border payments, then processing the data, verifying its quality and serving it to our users so that they can make informed business decisions

  • The DevOps team consists of a core team with three Engineers, supporting the wider business

  • We follow Agile methodologies and collaborate closely with product and other technical teams, so you will be interacting with various stakeholders across the business in addition to your immediate team

You should apply if you have:

  • Strong AWS experience (including going through an AWS migration process)

  • A passion for automation and continuous improvement

  • You understand how applications and services run in real-world production environments, keeping them running smoothly

  • You know how to configure the infrastructure to cope with demand while still delivering maximum resilience

  • Experience utilising AI to increase productivity and efficiency across the team

  • Experience of and desire to do people management

  • A love for learning and improving your skills

It’d be great (but not essential) if you also have experience with:

  • Kubernetes

  • Terraform

  • Good monitoring and alerting/service management experience

Tech Stack:

  • AWS, Terragrunt, Terraform, EKS, Helm, ArgoCD, Docker, Gitlab SaaS, Gitlab CI, Victoria Metrics (Prometheus compatible), Vault, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, MariaDB/MySQL, MongoDB, KeyCloak, ELK logging, Grafana

  • Legacy (migrating from): Kubernetes (Bare Metal), Ceph, Jenkins, Gitlab On-Premises
