AWS DevOps Lead
London – Hybrid
We are looking for an AWS DevOps Lead to join the team as we continue to develop new products and features for our clients. You will be responsible for managing the team, continuing our AWS migration and driving platform strategy across the business.
What you’ll be working on:
Being the go-to expert for everything AWS-related, owning our AWS platform and staying up to date with new AWS features
Support the migration of remaining elements to AWS
Development of infrastructure through reusable code with automated tooling and tests, while being an expert on the toolset
Use of metrics and monitoring information to ensure performance and reliability
Understand the complexities of working with multi-tier applications, capacity testing and scaling of distributed systems
Delivery of new features and tooling for both business and technical stakeholders
Collaboration with technical teams to help define a platform for the future
Responsible for managing and overseeing the DevOps team, ensuring smooth delivery of infrastructure and deployment processes
About the team:
You will join a technical team of approximately 40 technologists with a key purpose of continuously and reliably collecting large amounts of financial data describing cross-border payments, then processing the data, verifying its quality and serving it to our users so that they can make informed business decisions
The DevOps team consists of a core team with three Engineers, supporting the wider business
We follow Agile methodologies and collaborate closely with product and other technical teams, so you will be interacting with various stakeholders across the business in addition to your immediate team
You should apply if you have:
Strong AWS experience (including going through an AWS migration process)
A passion for automation and continuous improvement
You understand how applications and services run in real-world production environments, keeping them running smoothly
You know how to configure the infrastructure to cope with demand while still delivering maximum resilience
Experience utilising AI to increase productivity and efficiency across the team
Experience of and desire to do people management
A love for learning and improving your skills
These skills will help, but aren’t essential:
Kubernetes
Terraform
Good monitoring and alerting/service management experience
