What you’ll be doing:
We are looking a full time Assistant Library supervisor to join our dedicated library team

You will be enthusiastic, energetic and share our passion for libraries. These are front facing customer focused roles welcoming and engaging with residents across our four libraries The Curve, Britwell, Cippenham and Langley
You will support delivery of the day-to-day front line operations, working as part of a team to maintain our library opening hours and deliver the objectives in the Library plan
You will have the right skills to deliver events such as story, songs and rhyme times, lego clubs and events for adults to promote and encourage the use of library services. You will have a keen interest in books and reading.
You will need good IT skills, and be able to work under pressure adapting and responding to changing situations.
As part of this role alternate Saturday working is an essential requirement of the role
In addition to the above requirements the Assistant Library supervisor will play a key role in the effective and smooth running of the library service, ensuring that all day-to-day duties are managed to an excellent standard.
You will have the right skills to manage and motivate staff and volunteers. The ability to organise,promote and deliver events and initiatives to encourage the use of library services
This position deals with a wide mix of people and requires strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills. You will have the resilience and confidence to make decisions, and be able to work under pressure adapting and responding to changing situations.
You will have responsibility for supporting the Library supervisor in managing the day-to-day front line operations across 4 libraries, managing staff and rotas to maintain our library opening hours and deliver the objectives in the Library plan You will have responsibility for managing a group of staff ensuring that the whole team deliver a consistent quality service at all times across the library service.

Annual increments, where applicable, are usually payable on 1st April each year, subject to six months service in the post, until the maximum spinal column point of the level has been reached. The payment of annual increments is not automatic and is subject to satisfactory performance as assessed by your Director.
