Job Title: Assistant Coach – BC London Lions

Position Overview:
The London Lions are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Coach to support our elite basketball program. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, player development experience, and a commitment to fostering a winning culture. This role is instrumental in assisting the Head Coach with daily operations, player mentorship, and contributing to the team’s competitive success domestically and across Europe.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Head Coach in planning, organising, and executing training sessions, game strategies, and performance analysis.
- Assist in the development and mentoring of players, and nurturing young talent.
- Contribute to building a cohesive, multi-national, and multi-cultural team environment that promotes inclusivity and high performance.
- Collaborate with the coaching staff and management to align with the club’s long-term vision and objectives.
- Provide detailed scouting reports, statistical analysis, and tactical insights to enhance game preparation.
- Represent the club in community initiatives and assist in media engagements where required.
- Help maintain a positive and disciplined team culture that supports continuous improvement.
- Ensure adherence to league regulations and uphold the club's standards of professionalism.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Coaching experience in professional basketball, preferably in top European leagues, FIBA competitions, or equivalent.
- Proven ability to develop players and prepare them for high-level competition.
- Experience working in diverse team environments under competitive conditions.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and mentorship skills.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous.
- Solid understanding of European basketball, scouting, and player development pathways.
- Passionate about contributing to the club’s success and supporting its long-term growth.
- Travelling with the team on both national and international trips will be required.
- Collaborative mindset and strong work ethic.
- Ability to motivate and develop players.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £25,000.00-£60,000.00 per year
