Role Summary:
- AFC Fylde Community Foundation is recruiting an Armed Forces Employability Officer to join its successful and respected team. The post holder will support key projects within our Employability, Education & Skills strand and our Armed Forces Support programme.
- The role will include working with individuals and groups of Veterans, serving Armed Forces personnel and military families to deliver tailored employability support that places beneficiaries at the centre of the project. The post holder will work holistically with participants to provide support that is personalised for them and their needs.
- The role requires a passion for delivering both group and one-to-one support through programme delivery, activities and events. There will also be a requirement to network with local agencies in the public, private and voluntary sectors to deliver positive outcomes for project participants such as jobs fairs, mock interviews, keynote speakers and signposting opportunities.
Main Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver and evaluate employability projects such as Fylde Focus and Training Ground, ensuring they are bespoke to the needs of Veterans and the Armed Forces community.
- Provide mentoring support to participants, develop individual learning plans to help them achieve their best and identify suitable exit routes into employment, education or training.
- Provide tailored support to the Armed Forces community to improve their health and wellbeing, ensuring that each service users journey within the programme is as bespoke as possible.
- Support Armed Forces personnel who are transitioning into civilian life and searching for future employment.
- Assist on the Armed Forces Programme where required. Including supporting breakfast clubs, walking groups and events.
- Work alongside the Armed Forces Project Co-ordinator to identify new areas of work and strengthen our existing offer.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with a range of stakeholders such as Blind Veterans, Age UK, Fylde Council, Job Centre Plus, DWP, Probation Services, Lancashire County Council, including attending relevant network meetings.
- Work alongside Employability, Education & Skills staff to deliver employment readiness workshops to groups of Veterans and the Armed Forces community.
- Collect the required monitoring information and ensure it is recorded accurately on the designated monitoring and evaluation systems.
- Be a flexible member of the AFC Fylde Community Foundation team and when requested assist in the delivery of other projects and activities including evenings and weekends.
