What are we looking for?

Job Title: Agriculture Planning Co-ordinator

Reports to: Agriculture Planning Manager

About the role:

To plan, coordinate, and support rearing planning operations and agricultural administration activities. It involves close collaboration with internal teams, external customers, and contractors to maintain operational efficiency and compliance.

Key Accountabilities of the role – What I do IT

(The below is not exhaustive)

Production & Sales Coordination

  • Support the planning and sale of approximately 4 million laying hens annually to internal and external customers.
  • Manage laying farm cycles to meet supply and demand requirements.
  • Communicate forecasted depletion dates to relevant departments.

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Maintain direct liaison with customers to ensure requirements and service standards are consistently met.
  • Respond to queries from stakeholders including hauliers, catching teams, and management.
  • Coordinate contractors for pullet movements and vaccine administration.

Order processing & Document Control

  • Support the management of the chick order book, ensuring accuracy of dates and locations.
  • Support order processes and issue documentation to stakeholders.
  • Complete Laying Hen Passports and distribute to customers.
  • Process purchase orders, raise invoices, and manage payments.

Data & Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate records and prepare master information for internal and external communication.
  • Collate and present data to support decision-making.
  • Create Health & Welfare plans and record cards for rearing and laying farms.
  • Monitor stock levels and order testing/vaccine consumables.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Lion Code of Practice, RSPCA Assured, DEFRA, and other regulatory standards.

General Support

  • Perform ad-hoc tasks as requested by the Agriculture Senior Leadership Team.
