Salary: 37.5hrs per week £14 PH Overtime extra + travel expenses own transport essential driving licence required.

Job Description


Baxterstorey is seeking a skilled and passionate Barista to join our team in Abingdon. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional coffee beverages and providing outstanding customer service in a fast-paced café environment. Must have access to own transport travel expenses paid. Driving licence required

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, using high-quality beans and proper techniques
  • Overseeing coffee shop operation and supporting manager
  • Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other café equipment
  • Create visually appealing latte art to enhance the customer experience
  • Take customer orders accurately and efficiently using the POS system
  • Handle cash and card transactions with precision
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing product information and recommendations
  • Assist in managing inventory and stock levels of coffee beans, milk, and other supplies
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations during peak hours
  • Stay updated on coffee trends and Baxterstorey's menu offerings

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar customer-facing role
  • Excellent knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and ability to operate espresso machines
  • Proficiency in creating latte art and other decorative coffee presentations
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Competent in cash handling and using POS systems
  • Food hygiene certificate (preferred)
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Knowledge of different coffee beans, roasts, and brewing methods
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
