This placement offers a unique opportunity to gain experience across two dynamic teams within UKSBS: Operational Excellence (OpEx) and Lean Agile Centre of Excellence (LACE) . Over nine months, you’ll split your time between these teams, both of which share a common goal of driving continuous improvement.
Operational Excellence (OpEx): You’ll support initiatives focused on identifying and eliminating process inefficiencies within Operations, enhancing productivity, and maximising customer value.
LACE Team: You’ll be introduced to SAFe Agile practices, gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in helping to embed and sustain agile ways of working across a growing organisation.
This role is ideal for someone who is curious, motivated, and eager to learn. You’ll be encouraged to bring fresh ideas, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, and help champion positive change across teams and stakeholders.
To do this role well you will need:
- Demonstrates curiosity and motivation to learn about Agile principles, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to engage with teams and stakeholders effectively with strong verbal and written communication.
- Capable of contributing to team coordination and supporting Agile events.
- Willing to collaborate with others, take guidance from mentors and contribute to shared goals.
- Able to observe and assess problems and contribute to the development of solutions.
- Open to feedback, new methods of working and personal development.
- Willingness to explore issues in depth and suggest potential improvements or countermeasures.
- Proactive in bringing new ideas to the table and challenging the status quo.

To be considered, you will need to successfully obtain BPSS before commencing the role, obtaining clearance usually takes 5-10 working days.
UKSBS does not hold a Home Office Sponsor Licence under the UK Immigration System, therefore applicants must have eligibility to live and work in the UK at application stage.
Working pattern
You can work with us on a full time or part time basis with flexible start and finish times to meet our business needs, the core working hours are 08:00-17:00 Monday to Friday. We operate a Hybrid Working Policy which is currently a minimum of 20% working from the office.
In return for your skills and experience, we offer flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Eligibility and the degree of home working will vary depending on the requirements of the role, further details will be discussed if an offer is made.
