George Moss Jewellers is looking for a friendly, reliable apprentice to join our team. This is a great opportunity to earn while you learn in a well-established, independent jewellers.
Duties Will include
- Assisting with customer service and sales, both in-store and over the phone
- Learning about jewellery and watch repairs .
- Helping with stock displays, cleaning jewellery, and maintaining the shop floor
- Supporting with gold buying – weighing and testing gold
- Fitting watch batteries and straps
- Working at occasional events such as local events (prior notice and training given)
- Maintaining our social media accounts and uploading and creating new content, so an interest in media or film editing is a bonus.
This is a brief overview of tasks and this will progress with experience.
To become an apprentice, you must:
- be 16 or over
- not already be in full-time education
You can start an apprenticeship whether you’re starting your career, want a change or you're upskilling in your current job. You can have a previous qualification like a degree and still start an apprenticeship.
As an apprentice you’ll:
- have regular one to one sessions with a dedicated trainer either remotely or through visits to your workplace
- learn and train for a specific job
- get paid and receive holiday leave
- get hands-on experience in a real job
- study for at least 20% of your working hours
- complete assessments during and at the end of your apprenticeship
- be on a career path with lots of future potential
There is an opportunity of a full-time position within the company of successful completion of the apprenticeship
