As an Accountant II - EMEA, you will play a critical role in supporting Broad Arrow’s international operations in financial reporting, compliance, and transactional accounting for our entities across the EMEA region. This includes responsibility for accounting related to live auctions, online auctions, and private sales across multiple countries and currencies. The ideal candidate will have experience in both UK and international accounting practices and the ability to collaborate across global teams.

What you’ll do
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities for Broad Arrow’s EMEA operations including recording revenue, expenses, intercompany transactions, and journal entries.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end close for multiple legal entities and currencies, including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple countries and currencies.
- Prepare and provide commentary for flux/variance analysis across revenue, expenses, and key balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in preparing VAT returns, providing documentation support to the tax team.
- Support external and internal audit processes by providing schedules, documentation, and process explanations.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, ensure proper documentation of accounting policies and procedures, and participate in control testing if applicable.
- Assist in the implementation or enhancement of financial systems and reporting tools.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, increase automation, and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide ad hoc financial reports and support cross-functional projects (e.g., new market entries, system integrations, acquisitions).

- Proficient in UK and international accounting standards.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), IFRS, and local statutory requirements.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Workday preferred).
- Adaptable, with strong time management and organizational skills.
Minimum qualifications
- Fully Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
- Experience in an accounting role, ideally supporting international or EMEA operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems (e.g., Workday, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- Familiarity with auction, retail, or high-volume transactional businesses is a plus.

- This position can be worked remotely within the United Kingdom.
- Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
