Mash Direct, based on a working farm close to Comber are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance of our yard and public outside area. This role involves a variety of tasks including maintaining outside areas and walkways to be clear, clean and organised. The successful applicant will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to safety.
Duties
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard and pallet storage areas, ensuring they are free from hazards.
- Maintain staff production walkways
- Keeping walkways and car parks free of litter.
- Maintaining green areas, planting and weeding of flowerbeds, hedge strimming.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Counterbalance forklift use to include disposing of broken pallets and emptying waste containers.
- Power washer use.
- Use of your own initiative to resolve issues.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse or yard environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in operating counterbalance forklifts; certification is an advantage.
- Ability to perform manual handling and lifting duties.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude towards safety and teamwork is essential for success in this role.
