We are currently seeking a Workshop Controller for our Warrington Depot at North West Trucks. The successful candidate will report directly to the Depot Manager and will join our friendly team providing excellent levels of service to our customers.
Salary: Starting from £40,000 (Depending on experience) plus overtime opportunities
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.00 am to 5.30 pm, i.e. 42.5 hours per week, 1 hour lunch break (unpaid)
Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate work to technicians, ensuring that work standards and timescales are consistently achieved.
- Liaise with service advisors and customers to update job timescales, provide updates and obtain work authority as required.
- Ensure maximum efficiency during job and shift handovers.
- Report issues promptly and seek advice when required.
- Prioritise job card completion, ensuring all tasks are completed to dealer standards.
- Prioritise lead times for breakdown attendance and liaise with the service team accordingly.
- Ensure compliance paperwork is completed within the manufacturer’s specified timescales.
Ideally, we are looking for:
- A technical background or experience within a similar role working in or in collaboration with HGV workshop is essential.
- DAF technical background or experience (highly regarded).
- Proven ability to provide technical support to team and apprentices.
- Exceptional attendance and timekeeping.
- Positive attitude.
- Able to build and maintain relationships with team members and staff who you are responsible for or supporting.
- Highly motivated individual with excellent organisational and communication skills.
