Brief Description
Optimise and coordinate the annual and quarterly work plans to support efficient delivery of maintenance and project work within the delivery unit.
About the role (External)
Manage and co-ordinate line blockage applications from all stakeholders, by utilising cyclic plans and the use of Protection Controllers (PC), leading to improved productivity, efficiency, and cost.
- Manage daytime cyclic line blockage plans (SBN's) that will consider route capacity, operational requirements, and seasonal change in collaboration with Local Operations and Maintenance Teams.
- Produce annual, quarterly, and weekly line blockage work plans that coordinate and optimise the use of labour, access, plant, tools and materials.
- Identify and request critical line blockage access and resource requirements for items included in the annual, and quarterly and weekly plans.
- Monitor and report on work efficiency and unit costs of work volume delivery against the annual, and quarterly and weekly plans, identifying the causes of variance.
- Produce reports detailing line blockage key performance indicators (KPIs), in collaboration with Local Operations Teams and work requestors.
- Chair annual, quarterly and weekly planning meetings with each Maintenance Section to construct the integrated plan.
- Create collaborative relationships with all Maintenance Section's for both planned and emergency work, to prioritise safety, performance, and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with other key members of the DU / Area / Route Planning Teams to create an annual integrated area plan that optimises maintenance, projects, and all outside parties' work.
- Promote a proactive continuous improvement culture, sharing knowledge and best practice across the industry.
- Be trained up on the GZAC / Railhub system to provide cover for the existing Line Blockage Assistant roles.
