Wellbeing Coach - Young Person’s Independent Domestic Violence Advisor

1625 INDEPENDENT PEOPLE
£29,093 - £30,559 a year
Bristol, England
Full time
Are you passionate about supporting young people affected by domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse (DVA/SVA)? We have an opportunity for two new DVA/SVA specialist colleagues to join our multi-disciplinary team of wellbeing coaches.

Please find full details of how to apply via our website in the advert below. The deadline for application submissions is 23:59, Monday 30 June 2025.

These roles are part of an innovative partnership led by Next Link to provide a holistic response to gender-based violence across Bristol and South Gloucestershire. You will be employed by 1625ip as part of a team of Wellbeing Coaches, and will also work closely with Next Link colleagues, dividing your time between supporting young people in Next Link safe accommodation, and supporting young people in the community.

Wellbeing coaches offer flexible, relationship-based support to young people to help them reboot their lives. They also coach and mentor colleagues, sharing their knowledge and skills and delivering training to our teams. You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team working at the intersection of homelessness, mental health, DVA/SVA, and experience of care.

We are striving to better represent the young people we support and therefore are particularly keen to increase applications from minoritized ethnic groups and Muslim candidates, as they are currently under-represented in our organisation. We also encourage applications from people with relevant lived experience.

This post is open to female applicants only as being female is deemed a genuine occupational requirement for this post, under schedule 9, paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010.

If you need an adjustment to be made to any part of the recruitment process, please let us know as soon as possible.

Who are we?
We are a leading youth homelessness charity based in the Southwest, working with over 1,500 young people. At 1625ip we are driven by Social Justice and Passion: we strive to do something that matters and take pride in seeing the results of our work in social outcomes and improving young people’s lives.

What you will be doing:

  • Travelling to where young people are, to provide holistic, tailored, 1:1 support for young people experiencing, or at risk of, DVA/SVA.
  • Listening and responding to young people’s needs, facilitating groupwork and signposting to other relevant opportunities for recovery.
  • Developing excellent relationships with stakeholders, and confidently representing your young people in multi-agency work.
  • Mentoring and coaching colleagues to upskill them in responding to DVA/SVA.

You will be in the Transitions and Resilience team and your line manager will be our Transitions and Resilience Service Manager.

At 1625ip we are led by our Competency Development Framework. This connects our values to our behaviours in everything we do and gives us the tools to develop. The framework ensures our recruitment is better informed, applications and interviews are behaviourally based and job profiles are developed on the ‘how’ of a job.

Don’t currently hold the IDVA qualification? No problem. If you have the relevant skills and experience and you are interested in this role, but you are worried about the application process, please get in touch with us. We encourage you to have an informal chat with the recruiting manager to discuss how your personal or professional experience and skills could be transferred to this role. Details of how you can do that are further down in this advert.
