Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Assistant to join our dynamic team.
The café is predominantly serving rail travellers, we are known by our regular customers to be a friendly team serving great locally sourced food and drinks.
You will need to enjoy early starts and feel comfortable working in a fast paced environment at times. The ideal person will have some previous experience of working in a café, whilst wanting full time employment with the ability to work occasional weekends.
You will need an ability to work under your own initiative, work as part of a team and have an enthusiastic, can-do approach. Most importantly your customer service skills will be exceptional.
Training will be available to address gaps in skills, experience and to develop the right individuals.
We are looking for someone on a permanent contract rather than uni holidays.
Flexible Rota shift system
Sat 7.15am-12.30pm/8am-2pm/ 12.30pm-6.30pm
Sunday 8.45am-1pm/ 1pm-5.15pm
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently at the point of sale.
- Maintain a clean and organised sales floor, ensuring that merchandise is displayed attractively.
- restocking shelves
- Handle customer queries ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and enhance overall performance.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, demonstrating initiative in addressing customer needs.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and managing stock levels.
- Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
- A genuine passion for sales and a desire to learn about products and services offered.
