The kitchen prepares simple, homely cooked meals daily for up to 32 residents and 5 to 6 staff. The meals prepared are of a high quality, with special diets and residents' ''likes and dislikes'' accommodated. Our kitchen is consistently awarded a 5 star food hygiene rating.
We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Davenport Manor. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs of our residents. Your contributions will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those in our care.
The position requires working Saturdays and Sundays from 8.00 am to 5.00pm. The selected candidate would also be required, if possible, to provide holiday/sickness cover when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely and in compliance with health regulations.
- Plan menus that are nutritious and appealing to residents.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special dietary needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cook or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet diverse dietary needs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Culinary qualifications or training is preferred but not essential.
- Should be located within a commuting distance from the care home
