Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Children Support Worker to join our team working weekends supporting under 18 year old's with learning and physical disabilities within the community.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess the ability to communicate effectively. It’s a varied and flexible role; a challenging yet rewarding position; helping to enhance children’s lives by encouraging them to participate in positive activities and in meeting their needs. You will be required to build a trusting relationship and provide emotional support to young people who may have complex needs and present challenging behavior's.
Duties
- Provide personal care and support to children, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
- Communicate regularly with children to understand their needs and preferences, fostering a trusting relationship.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in behaviour or health to the relevant professionals.
- Support within the community attending activities including and not limited too; local parks, zoo's, farm's, cinema, bowling and swimming.
The right candidates will;
- Have previous experience of working with complex needs and challenging behavior's,
- Be positive, caring and supportive,
- Have good communication skills and and be an excellent listener,
- Be committed to providing support in positively changing a young person’s life.
- For community work own transport is essential
Rates of pay from £12.50 per hour.
Predominantly the hours are weekends, however additional hours may arise during school holidays.
