Forbidden Planet, the UK’s leading retailer of SF, Film, TV, Gaming & genre entertainment products require a passionate and dynamic Web & Marketing Assistant.
- This position reports to the Internet and Marketing Manager and liaises with the IT department, the Marketing dept and the Buying & Merchandising team.
- This role is responsible for loading content onto and maintaining website content to agreed standards and timescales.
- Marketing duties include periodic attendance at Signing Events, conventions and other off site activity.
- Creation / ordering of in-store POS and signage
- Maintaining diary and updating stores on POS
- Load content provided by the buyers to agreed timescales and standards
- Ensure that research is undertaken swiftly and accurately across a wide range of products and sites
- Locate and edit product imagery and text if required
- Liaise with the Buying/Merchandising Department to ensure that all product information is accurate
- Keeping your line manager informed of load activity and progress
- Liaison with IT department and buyers on Comic load Previews load
- Check FP website landing pages daily for accuracy, functionality and compliance with agreed standards
- Ensure signings web content is dealt with in a timely way and to FP standards
- Ensure all promotions are applied to the FP website, liasing with buyers as needed
- Revisit Web records as needed to ensure that product information is the best available
- Maintain the consistency and accuracy of the web database
- Construct weekly e-zines - send via mailing system
- Maintain landing pages as requested
- Design, print and distribute store POS - window display and related A3 / A4 display. Maintain record of distribution, receipt by stores and Filemaker photo log. Includes Head Office foyer
- Design, print and distribute store Signage - overhead and gondola banners etc. Maintain record of distribution, receipt by stores and Filemaker photo log

Essential
- Demonstrable command of MS Office (Documents & spreadsheets), Adobe Photoshop and FileMaker or similar database
- Experience in a transactional website environment
- An understanding of product categorisation, stock status and basic day-to-day management of a product database.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities within extremely tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Good knowledge of FP product mix
Desirable
- Familiarity with HTML
