We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by performing various tasks related to materials handling, shipping, and receiving. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Manage inventory using warehouse management systems, ensuring accurate stock levels.
- Handle materials with care during loading and unloading processes.
- Engage in picking and packing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining an organised warehouse layout.
- Conduct shipping and receiving tasks, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Knowing south asian foods well is an advantage.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and equipment is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience in construction can be beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Proficiency in using inventory management systems is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting (up to 25 kg) and standing for extended periods. We welcome candidates who are eager to contribute positively to our team while developing their skills within the warehousing sector.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
