Contract: 36 hours per week
Salary: £12.65 per hour

About the Role:
We are looking for a male support worker to provide person-centred care for a young gentleman with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and assessed learning disabilities. The person we support experiences challenges with speech, language, and communication in line with his learning needs, and follows a range of daily rituals that are important to his routine. Due to the nature of his disabilities, he can have difficulty understanding, processing, and communicating complex or abstract information. At times, he may become heightened and display behaviours of concern. During such moments, staff should allow space for him to settle, where safe to do so.
Part of the support involves promoting a calming evening routine. Staff are required to inform him when the TV will be turned off and encourage him to relax in his bedroom. While it is his choice whether or not to go to his bedroom, staff can provide gentle prompts to support his routine.
This is a male-only position, in line with the preferences and support needs of the individual.
Key Responsibilities:
You will provide consistent emotional and practical support, follow structured routines, and apply low-arousal approaches when needed. You’ll help the person manage day-to-day activities, encourage positive communication, and promote independence wherever possible. Supporting with daily rituals, managing behaviours of concern safely, and helping maintain a calm and predictable environment will be central to your role.
