Waking Night Support Workers Wanted for a Brand-New Children’s Home near Sudbury!
Sevello Children’s Homes are recruiting Waking Night Support Workers for their exciting new home, New Haven, opening near Sudbury.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a brand-new team and support up to 4 children aged 5–12, many of whom will have a diagnosis such as Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), ADHD, or Autism. The Role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety, stability, and wellbeing of the children overnight. You’ll provide a calm and reassuring presence, manage any incidents that occur, and support children with morning routines so they start the day positively.
Salary & Shifts
- Qualified: £30,764 per year
- Unqualified: £28,157 per year
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off – excellent work-life balance
Shift Times: 22:00 – 08:00 (waking night shifts, no sleeps)
Annual Leave: 240 hours (30 days)
Location: New Haven, near Sudbury (village location – driving licence required)
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent emotional and practical support to children during the night
- Monitor the home environment to ensure safety and security
- Respond appropriately to any incidents or emergencies
- Offer a calm and supportive presence for children who may wake during the night
- Support morning routines and handover to the day team
- Follow care plans and safeguarding procedures to maintain the highest standards of care
What We’re Looking For
- Passion for working with children and making a difference in their lives
- Ability to build trusting relationships and provide emotional support
- A positive, proactive, and patient approach
- Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural village location)
- Experience of supporting children with EBD, ADHD, or Autism (desirable but not essential)
- Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce (desirable but not essential)
- Willingness to complete Level 3 qualification through our Training Academy if not already achieved
