Shifts covering: 8pm to 8am, on a rota basis.
Salary Scale point: 20 (£24,790 per annum, pro rata for part-time) (plus unsocial enhancement for night working)

The Society of St James (SSJ) has been working in Hampshire for over 50 years, delivering high impact, person-centred, accommodation services to adults and young people experiencing homelessness, problematic substance use and mental health problems. The Role
We are recruiting for a Waking Night Support Worker to join our fabulous team based in Woolston, Southampton. Working with St James Care as a support worker, no two days are the same. Supporting vulnerable people overcome challenges in their lives that prevent them from leading a fulfilling and rewarding life.
Our clients deliver high impact, person-centred, accommodation services to people experiencing homelessness, substance misuse and mental health problems. The people they support are at the heart of everything they do, their main aim and priority is to find people with values, behaviours and attitudes to match their own.
The Ideal Candidate:
You will have experience and/or understanding of working with adults with alcohol and substance misuse problems but calm, caring, motivational and empathetic nature is essential.
You will need to:
- Have or be willing to work towards a Care Certificate and/or be willing to work towards Diploma Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care, as this qualification is an essential requirement of the post.
- You will need to be caring, empathetic and motivated.
- You will need to be able to document and record information using electronic systems.
