Main Purpose of Job:
To serve food and beverages and provide excellent customer service at The Gamekeeper’s Inn.
Evening and weekend working will be required.
Reporting Responsibility:
Reports to the Pub Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and seat customers, present menus, and take orders.
- Serve food and beverages, including preparing beverages.
- Upsell where possible and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the menu.
- Handle customer queries and complaints politely, recording issues for management if needed.
- Maintain a clean and welcoming environment, including clearing tables and restocking supplies.
- Operate the till system, process payments, and manage bookings.
- Provide assistance to accommodation guests, including check-ins and check-outs.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Assist in setting up for functions and events.
- Ensure compliance with licensing laws and allergen regulations.
- Carry out any additional tasks as requested by the line manager.
About The Role
Person Specification
1. Education and Qualifications
- Level 2 Award in Food Safety and Hygiene (will be provided).
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
2. Experience
- Previous bar or waiting experience is desirable.
- Experience with till operation and cash handling is desirable.
3. Skills and Attributes
- Excellent communication skills and high personal presentation standards.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Friendly, organized, and efficient team player with strong initiative.
- Observant, practical, and professional, with a flexible approach to work.
