This is fixed-term post of 6 months.
The shift pattern for this post is Monday - Friday 8.00am – 4.45pm
Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
To be responsible for the receipt and management of all referrals, liaising with medical and nursing staff and at all times, adhering to Greater Glasgow & Clyde Waiting List Policy. The postholder will liaise with clinicians to plan management for patients, arrange admissions, deal with telephone enquiries from internal/external agencies, ensuring capacity is utilised to full potential.
Work alongside the existing waiting list co-ordinators within the Endoscopy Service to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the current waiting lists is maintained, that patient activity is planned to achieve patient guarantees utilising all available resources and that patient waiting times are minimised.
This key role will provide operational management and support strategic direction of waiting times in GG&C. The post holder will be expected to work with the existing waiting list co-ordinators to implement and manage monitoring and administrative systems to achieve GG&C waiting time targets with early identifier systems to:
- Resolve potential problems
- Ensure achievement of national and local targets
- Expand capacity to deliver activity
- Improve efficiency
- Reduce inappropriate demand on services
- Develop and implement best practice
- Manage referrals to external hospitals providing additional capacity
- To assist the Service Manager in the provision of data relating to waiting lists within the directorate
To ensure in conjunction with relevant administrative managers that effective waiting list processes are placed relating to the elective journey for endoscopy patients.
