Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic waiter/ waitress to join our team at the Bistro which is located at the Hireco Truck Park in DP World, London Gateway port. You will be responsible for taking orders, serving food and beverages, making coffee using a freshly ground beans, and ensuring that all guests feel welcome and well-cared for during their visit. Your ability to provide outstanding hospitality will contribute significantly to the overall success of our bistro.
Duties
- Greet and welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude.
- Take accurate food and drink orders using the restaurant's electronic point-of-sale system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring presentation meets our standards.
- Assist in food preparation as needed, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Upsell menu items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including tables and service stations.
- Respond promptly to guest inquiries and requests, providing excellent guest services at all times.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any issues that may arise.
- Handle basic maths for processing payments accurately.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety practices is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on providing exceptional hospitality.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, willingness to help others, and a passion for delivering excellent service are essential traits for this role.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
