Job Summary
Overview:
We currently have a new position available which is to recruit, monitor and develop the volunteers at both the Animal Centre, Fundraising team and the 10 shops. The role is to oversee the delivery of the various delegated tasks, to ensure that volunteers are all adequately trained, their activities are risk assessed, to ensure that there are both appropriate and relevant volunteering and work placements/opportunities on and off site and in the shops, providing added value to the charity and to themselves.
The manager will be expected to work alongside the staff, placements and volunteers, provide training to volunteers with the staff, to help further develop the team structure. The Manager will need to keep up to date and relevant records and abide by Llys Nini’s Safeguarding and GDPR policies.
The role will also be to contribute to and oversee the Safeguarding Policy and implementation and advising all those working with children and vulnerable adult volunteers or work placements on best practice.
It is expected that the volunteers would also assist with the participation programme and community activities and educational events with the Community team and local employers.
Key Purpose of Job:
· To actively recruit and oversee volunteer positions at the animal centre, fundraising, café, shops and elsewhere as required, to ensure that adequate volunteer coverage is achieved, and retained, in the required areas.
· Connect and liaise with agencies to recruit and work with volunteers of all abilities.
· Develop and implement effective strategies to recruit volunteers with the right skills, at the right time, to match the interest of the charity.
· Train staff to work effectively with volunteers in each area and resolve any conflict or misunderstanding.
· Ensure all activities follow the prescribed procedures, ensuring all risks are identified, assessed and managed appropriately.
· Ensure staff and volunteers are well supervised during their visits.
· Continually review and update as necessary the volunteer policies and procedures.
· Maintain database, administration of volunteers and potential placements and their training programme - keeping the appropriate records and monitoring the progress of the placements. Write up reports for funders/stakeholders/trustees.
· Working to keep Llys Nini’s Safeguarding Policy under regular review, to ensure it up to date, is fit for purpose and being adhered to.
· Keep up to date with safeguarding training and legal requirements
· Work collaboratively with other members of staff to support volunteers identified as requiring safeguarding support (either through a disclosure or prior information) to include making appropriate referrals to other support agencies and updating appropriate IT/data systems with relevant information which can be shared.
· Identify and deliver appropriate interventions with the safeguarding cohort as required.
· Act as primary points of contact for staff who have safeguarding concerns.
· Contribute to safeguarding training
· Supporting all Animal Centre staff and volunteers in achieving their duties.
· Ensure the welfare of volunteers is high, organising events and providing a social network to attract new volunteers and retaining volunteers.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £23,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
