Volunteering Barnet (part of Groundwork London) is seeking a Volunteer Officer who will inspire and enable prospective volunteers to find roles in many different voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations across the London Borough of Barnet.
Volunteering Barnet is Barnet’s Volunteer Centre. We aim to connect prospective volunteers with a wide range of roles across VCFSE organisations in Barnet, and ensure their experience as a volunteer is positive. As the Volunteer Officer, you will be the primary contact for prospective volunteers, providing both remote and in person support to access our volunteering opportunity database, identify suitable volunteering opportunities and help volunteers to apply / start in volunteering roles. Our service is for everyone who lives, works and studies in Barnet, therefore the post holder can expect to attend community and education outreach events, undertake targeted work with communities including asylum seekers and other marginalised groups / global majority communities and support the brokerage of corporate volunteers, including council employees.
The role is varied. Key requirements for the role include:
- Passionate about volunteering; experienced volunteer
- Strong digital skills in the use of databases
- Able verbal and written communicator
- Data analysis; identifying data trends
- Flexible and collaborative when working with a team
Lived experience working, living or studying in Barnet or with the Barnet VCFSE sector is desirable.
