The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive and personable Volunteer Co-ordinator to join our friendly team on a part-time basis. This is a rewarding and vital role, perfect for someone who is passionate about community engagement and enjoys working with people from all walks of life. You’ll play a key role in supporting the smooth running of our volunteer programme, ensuring that our team of dedicated volunteers and our corporate groups feel valued, supported, and well-organised.

Key Responsibilities

· Recruit, induct, and provide ongoing support to volunteers across all teams

· Organise and manage volunteer schedules and rotas

· Deliver training and guidance to ensure a safe, welcoming, and rewarding experience for all volunteers

· Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteer enquiries and wellbeing

· Cultivate a positive, inclusive volunteer culture that reflects our charitable values

· Collaborate with staff to identify and develop meaningful volunteer roles and opportunities

· Maintain accurate records of volunteer activity, roles, hours, and feedback

· Promote and coordinate corporate volunteering opportunities

· Actively participate in activities alongside corporate volunteer groups

· Ensure a positive, safe, and engaging experience for all corporate volunteers

· Encourage donations and ongoing support from corporate volunteer groups

· Assist with the delivery of events and wider community engagement initiatives

About You
We’re looking for someone who is:

· Organised, approachable, and a natural communicator, with the ability to build positive relationships across diverse volunteer and community groups

· Experienced in working with volunteers or community organisations, with a good understanding of how to support and motivate individuals and teams

· Confident in coordinating schedules, managing rotas, and handling administrative tasks with accuracy and attention to detail

· Skilled in delivering training and guidance, and comfortable acting as the first point of contact for queries and wellbeing support

· Proactive in identifying opportunities for volunteer involvement, including corporate volunteering and community engagement

· Able to work both independently and collaboratively with staff and external partners

· Passionate about heritage, education, and helping people connect meaningfully with the countryside

· Committed to creating an inclusive, safe, and enjoyable environment for all volunteers

· Flexible with working hours, with a willingness to support occasional weekend work and events

Additional Information

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check.

£24,000 is the full-time equivalent salary. The actual salary will be based on working 2 days per week.
