The Life Chance Trust is a South Devon charity transforming the futures of young people (aged 16– 25) affected by trauma, adversity, and disrupted education. Through mentoring, life skills development, and community engagement, we empower them to build resilience, achieve goals, and thrive.
The Role
We’re seeking a dedicated Youth Mentor and Volunteer Coordinator to deliver our 12-week mentoring programme and manage a growing team of volunteer mentors. This role blends direct support with coordination responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity to influence the direction of a young and growing charity.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide 1:1 mentoring to a small caseload of young people, supporting personal development plans and building trusted relationships.
· Manage recruitment, training, supervision and retention of volunteer mentors.
· Support delivery of Life Skills Workshops on topics including wellbeing, cooking, budgeting, and employability.
· Maintain accurate case records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation.
· Promote trauma-informed practice and safeguarding throughout all work.
· Collaborate with partners and represent the charity in the community.

About You Essential
· Highly experienced supporting vulnerable young people 1:1 and in group settings
· Experience managing or coordinating volunteers or staff
· Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
· Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches
· A relevant qualification (min. Level 3) and a full driving licence
Desirable
· Trauma Informed
· Experience delivering training or workshops
· Familiarity with safeguarding practices and volunteer management systems
· Background in youth work, education, or social care
