Artyfacts delivers unique art classes to Brighton and Hove Primary, Infant, and Junior schools. Art clubs run after school 3-4 days a week at different schools on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3 to 5 pm. Each class has approx. 30 children and there is a child-to-adult ratio of 8:1.
Roles include:
- Setting up venues for the arrival of the children.
- Encouraging children in their projects
- Assimilating art skills
- Preparing children for collection / meeting and greeting parents.
- Tidying up after sessions.
I am looking for volunteer teaching assistants who are available to help on a Tuesday afternoon from 3.00 - 5.30.
The position would suit a person who values children and is punctual and reliable, with initiative and a willingness to work hard and get messy. Knowledge of artistic techniques and experience working with children is a bonus.
75% of our volunteers go on to become teaching assistants in schools or obtain a place at the PGCE level from the work experience and references they receive from volunteering in the art classes.
- I have 20 years teaching experience, I am a qualified Art Therapist and an Artist and am enthusiastic to share my knowledge.
I can provide D.B.S checks and invaluable teaching experience and references on request after completion of two terms.
Please visit our website and reply to Indeed with a short cover letter explaining why you would like to join our team and why you are suitable for the role.
