We are a family run End of Life Vehicle Centre and supplier of used car parts and have been servicing Liverpool and the North West for almost 40 years. We are currently recruiting Experienced and highly motivated Vehicle dismantlers to join our organisation.

At Merton Car Dismantlers we provide a fast and friendly service to our customers and provide excellent quality used car parts for their vehicle at a very competitive price. We also provide a free scrap car collection service to the people of Liverpool and the surrounding areas. Based on one of the main roads into Liverpool and the Docks, our motor recycling and dismantling scrap yard is well located on Hawthorne Road, Bootle.

The role – Motor Vehicle Parts Dismantler

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced vehicle dismantler or mechanic with a varied skill set . This role would suit candidates with a keen interest in Motor Vehicles of all makes and models and

The ideal candidate will:

· Have proven experience in the automotive industry either in a mechanic or dismantling role

· Own their own tools

· Display a good understanding of vehicle manufacturers, makes models and components

· Be inquisitive and keen to develop their knowledge of cars, models, part compatibility across various manufacturers and the 'family's' that car parts belong to or share

· Be keen to develop their knowledge in all elements of the car dismantling and recycling process.

· Be able to multitask, prioritise and respond to different demands at any one time

· Be well organised and demonstrate good memory skills

· Have excellent time management skills, punctual and strong attendance record

· Be a clear communicator with good listening skills

· Be trustworthy, reliable and self-motivated

· Be friendly with a positive attitude, enthusiastic and ‘can-do’ attitude to work

· English and Maths GCSE

· Have attained level 3 in Light Vehicle Repair and maintenance or equivalent

The role will involve:

· Carefully removing car parts from vehicles for resale

· Carry out repairs to company vehicles and stock when required

· When required remove vehicle parts for on site customers or on line orders

· Respond pro actively to customer enquires and communicate well with front of house to deliver best service and outcome for the customer

· Demonstrate organisational skills by ensuring stock is accurately labelled and adhere to the stock management system at all times

· Ensuring that vehicle parts are removed in the safest manner whilst taking care not to damage the part itself or any of the other existing parts on the vehicle

· Dealing with any slip/trip hazards on the yard in a timely manner and promoting a safety culture by demonstrating a 'One Team' attitude and not waiting for someone else to do so

· Being responsible for high levels of order and cleanliness in your own work area and adhere to the wearing of the required PPE at all times

· Report any Health and Safety issues to senior management team or supervisors

· Actively take part in training and display willingness to engage in company projects and initiatives

· Outdoor working in all weather is required
