About Us:
Voltempo is developing Hyper Rapid DC charging solutions for a range of commercial vehicle sectors, initially here in the UK, but progressively, as the transport sector electrifies, internationally. The company holds several international patents, it is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions, targeting commercial vehicles. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its international shareholders and its role under the UK Govt eFreight programme, where it is leading a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators to deploy the UK first eHGVs charging network.
About the Role:
We’re seeking a creative, analytical, and user‑centered UX Designer to help shape experiences across our digital touchpoints—whether web platforms, fleet management dashboards, or internal tooling. As part of our growing team, you'll play a key role in humanizing complex systems and delivering seamless, intuitive experiences to customers and internal users alike.
Key Responsibilities
· Conduct user research, interviews, and workshops to understand the needs of fleets, operators, and internal stakeholders.
· Develop personas, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups tailored to both web and mobile environments
· Run usability testing and feedback sessions, iterating designs based on both qualitative and quantitative insights
· Collaborate closely with product managers, electrical engineers, developers, and operations teams to translate user insights into practical, scalable design solutions.
· Advocate for accessibility, clarity, and consistency across all user interfaces.
· Maintain and contribute to a design system/style guide to support rapid prototyping and development.
· Ensure UX aligns with business goals—optimizing for efficiency, usability, and brand coherence
Who You Are
· Experienced Portfolio: Demonstrated experience (e.g., 3+ years) designing complex systems or tools, ideally within B2B, infrastructure, or logistics domains.
· Skilled with Design Tools: Proficient in Figma or similar tools, plus familiarity with wireframing tools like Balsamiq, UXPin
· Foundational Coding Awareness: Comfortable working alongside front-end developers; some knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a bonus
· User-Centered Mindset: You’re deeply empathetic, curious, and driven by the desire to solve user pain points
· Collaborative & Communicative: Strong at cross-functional collaboration and able to clearly present design rationale to stakeholders.
· Analytical Thinker: You balance creative design with data-informed decision-making and evolving usability patterns
· Education: Degree in UX Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, or related field is desirable.
