We are recruiting a Trust ST4 in General Medicine who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards “great people, great place”.

The post holder will be based at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport, Isle of Wight. The post holder will be expected to work at ST4 level in both medical speciality and General (Internal) Medicine. The post would be suitable for those with previous GIM / Specialty experience at this level or those building experience relevant to applying for Higher Training in a Medical Specialty / GIM.

Experience could be offered in:
Acute internal medicine
Cardiology
Diabetes and endocrine
Gastroenterology
Geriatrics
Respiratory medicine

To engage in the regular educational programme held by the Consultants and other medical staff
To attend operational departmental meetings
To support local trust Clinical Audit and service development programmes.

The posts are tailored to individual’s career aspirations and aimed at supporting trainees with gain experience relevant to applications for substantive posts in the UK.

Trainees will be offered educational supervision, mentorship and annual appraisal.

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust operates a partnership model with Portsmouth NHS trusts and University hospitals Southampton. Successful applicants will attend clinical MDTs organised with partners. The trusts will support successful applicants with requests to partners to assist with any specific personal development needs or requests that cannot be fulfilled by clinical experience on the IOW. This could include practical skills training, subspecialty training or research opportunities.
