J Medler Haulage Co Ltd is located in Norwich, Norfolk and provide a range of road haulage services across the UK. We currently have a vacancy for an under 20 Transport assistant in our transport team covering transport duties and administration. This role is ideal for someone starting out in their career and looking to grow within the transport or logistics industry. This is a great opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic and is good with management in a busy office environment. This job has a view with progressions within a logistics office.
Applicants must be self-motivated, good communication skills, have the ability to work using their own initiative, be able to work as part of a team. Excellent customer care and a 'can do' attitude is essential.
Salary Based on 40hrs a week with every other Saturday 0900-1200
Under 18's £16,000 per annum
18-20 £20,500 per annum
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
- Working alongside the director, transport manager and other personal
- Dealing with queries
- Essential knowledge of Microsoft packages is required
- Resourceful and capable of working as a team member

- Liaising with customers via telephone to take collections / customer query resolution
- Keeping up to date with transport e-mails

- Liaison with warehouse staff, drivers and other departments and depots
- Communicating job details to transport drivers
- Any other reasonable request made by management
- Vehicle defect management
- Fuel Management
- Fleet Compliance

- Interest in transport, admin, or logistics is a bonus
