The Role

This is a full time and permanent position to join our Transport Team, based at our Distribution hub in Uttoxeter. As a Transport Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the efficient operation of the Lowe transport department at Marchington. Reporting to the Head of Transport, you will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of Transport operations + administration, ensuring efficient routes and schedules, coordinating with drivers, 3rd party providers, the warehouse, and maintaining legal compliance. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of assets

Job Responsibilities

Route Planning and Route Admin:

  • Collaborate with the transport team to plan and optimize delivery routes.
  • Monitor route changes and complete adjustments in a timely manner.
  • Book hotels for driver overnight trips.
  • Input POD/POC information received from third party hauliers onto our system, and chase hauliers to provide relevant documents.
  • Update and maintain Microsoft Business Central administration and rectification of errors
  • Project data alignment
  • Ensure hauliers have a booking for loading/unloading on the Marchington booking system.

Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with drivers to resolve any on the job challenges.
  • Foster good relations with 3rd party providers and inter-departmental colleagues
  • Liaise with warehouse, asset management, and project management to ensure projects run smoothly.
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to resolve system errors

Compliance:

  • Ensure administrative compliance with Transport regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and maintain vehicle fleet records.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Administrator with experience of Microsoft Business Central ERP and Microsoft 365, Microsoft office
  • Working knowledge of Transport regulations and best practice (desired but not essential.)
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, conscientious, diligent and analytical approach

There will be a requirement for one on-call weekend each month to handle urgent issues. Also to provide cover for annual leave.
