Trainee Utility Surveyor (As Laid)
Office based in Bradford with Field work across the UK
Matrix ABC are an industry leading and forward thinking organisation. We specialise in providing surveying and CAD services to the utility industry. Our main focus is on providing As Laid drawings, detailing comprehensive and accurate data of the utility installed. We are looking for a committed individual to join our surveying team.
As a utilities surveyor you will be initially trained to survey new utility installs utilising the latest GPS technology. A company van will be provided. You must be able to travel daily and stay overnight when required. Full training will be given so no direct experience is required. However having any familiarity or experience in the following would be an advantage
- Experience with the installation of utilities
- Experience utilising Ordnance Survey mapping
- Experience or familiarity with CAD or GIS
- Experience or familiarity with using GPS surveying equipment
- CSCS/EUSR card
The Role
- Contact clients to ascertain project schedules and completions
- Manage site visits based around client schedules and whereabouts
- Utilise surveying equipment and technology to collect precise data and co-ordinates.
- Prepare detailed surveys to pass to our in house CAD team
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other professionals to ensure project specifications are met.
- Manage data effectively, ensuring all information is accurate and organised for future reference.
- Check final drawings prior to submittal for review
Requirements
- Full driving license required
- Age 21 +
- Being able to work outdoors and not be phased by challenging environments such as bad weather conditions
- Positive and flexible approach
- Willingness for daily travel and be able to stay away as required
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to use a smartphone, tablet and laptop
- Exposure to software such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Trello and cloud based file storage platforms
