The Trainee Management Accountant will support the FP&A team in preparing management accounts, analysing financial data, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. This is a hands-on role offering practical experience while studying towards a professional accounting qualification.
We work Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm, offering 26 days holiday, plus Bank Holidays, Pension, Company Events and a commitment to Training and Development opportunities. We can offer this position as a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process with data collection and basic analysis
- Monitor and report on departmental spend against budget
- Assist with Certinia testing, implementation and improvements
- Produce routine financial reports for internal stakeholders
Requirements:
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables)
- Attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a finance environment
Training and Development:
- Study support for AAT/CIMA/ACCA
- On-the-job mentoring and exposure to different areas of finance
- Opportunities to progress into qualified roles upon completion
