We’re looking for a Trade Labourer at Freebridge Community Housing to provide essential support to our tradespeople, ensuring materials, equipment, and assistance are delivered efficiently and safely. This is a hands-on role that plays a key part in maintaining our properties and delivering excellent customer service.

Our Freebridge Community Housing goal is to provide affordable, safe, and quality homes for current and future generations, for those who need a place to call home. Freebridge was set up in 2006, to receive the transfer of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s housing stock. We now have over 7500 properties across west and north Norfolk, in addition to building new homes for social and affordable rent, and to support those who want to move into shared home ownership. We’ve had numerous achievements, including delivering our tenants' promises and bringing homes to the Decent Homes Standard, affording our customers a much better quality of living. What you’ll be doing:
- Customer service: Deliver a courteous and effective service to all customers.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
- Equipment operation: Operate plant machinery and other equipment as required (training provided).
- Maintenance support: Assist with general maintenance tasks including working at height, erection and use of access equipment, and drainage clearance to meet work schedules.
- Health & safety: Follow all health and safety procedures and report hazards.
- Material handling: Carry out deliveries to various locations across the Freebridge area.
- Work organisation: Plan and organise your own workload to meet schedules.
- Team collaboration: Communicate effectively and courteously with all levels of the workforce.
- Decision-making: Make informed decisions within your area of expertise.
- Callouts: Participate in out-of-hours callouts when required.
What we’re looking for:
Essential criteria:
- Trade awareness: A basic overview of all trades to support effective collaboration and task execution.
- Building materials knowledge: A good understanding and recognition of building materials used across trades.
- Health & safety commitment: Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations, with a commitment to working safely and maintaining a clean, hazard-free environment.
- Customer service & communication: Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering courteous, high-quality service to all customers and colleagues.
- Initiative & organisation: Ability to work independently, make decisions within your area of expertise, and organise your own workload to meet schedules and deadlines.
- Confined space capability: Ability to work safely and effectively in confined spaces.
- Efficiency: Commitment to value for money and producing high-quality work.
- ICT proficiency: Ability to use mobile ICT systems and complete auditable paperwork.
- Teamwork & flexibility: A strong team player with a flexible approach to working arrangements.
- Desirable criteria:
- CSCS certification: Possession of a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Card.
- Plant operation: Ability to operate plant or equipment (training will be provided).
