Therapeutic Practitioner - North

Five Rivers Child Care
North Tyneside, England
Part time

We are recruiting for a Therapeutic Practitioner with experience of providing interventions to families in a trauma-informed environment.

This is a part-time role working remotely from home, with some requirement to travel to offices in Doncaster, Thornaby and Killingworth. (Travel would not be frequent, and costs can be claimed through expenses).

Working Hours: Tuesday - Thursday (9am-3pm), Friday (9am-3.30pm) - (22.5 hours per week)

In this role your primary task will be to work directly with foster carers providing assessment, intervention and group work, with the aim of increasing placement stability and reducing unplanned placement endings. You will seek to improve foster carer skills and knowledge in caring for looked after children who have experienced developmental trauma by exploring behaviour patterns of the child, resilience and coping mechanisms of the foster carers as well as systemic interactions between all family members within the home.

You will provide support to carers across three fostering offices working as part of a regional clinical team. Monthly caseload supervision will be provided by a Clinical Practitioner, as well as the opportunity to attend regular reflective practice groups alongside others in the same role for your own development.

Key role requirements:

Essential - Registration as a relevant professional (social worker, nurse, occupational therapist, teacher etc) WITH a formally recognised qualification in therapeutic or trauma informed practice to diploma level (or equivalent) OR Current registration and accreditation with a counselling/psychotherapy professional body e.g. BACP, UKCP etc.

Essential - Experience of providing therapeutic intervention to families in a trauma-informed environment.
