Brief overview of the role
Join William Alvey Church of England School as a Teaching Assistant Apprentice. This role involves supporting pupils across a range of abilities and undertaking duties that support the teacher, such as preparing the classroom and delivering tailored teaching activities to pupils on either a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
Working week
Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.
This is a term-time only role.
Total hours per week: 32.5 hours a week including training hours.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils in their individual learning and development.
- Help pupils develop their literacy and numeracy skills.
- Assist the classroom teacher in the planning and assessment of learning activities.
- Assist in the reporting and recording of pupil performance.
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Successful apprentices will complete the Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship.
- Functional Skills level 2 in English and maths if required.
- Safeguarding training.
- PREVENT duty training.
- Fire safety training.
- Apprenticeship training will take place each week at Grantham College, Stonebridge Road, Grantham, NG31 9AP.

- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4/C or above) essential.
