We’re looking for a Talent Partner to help us hire everything from smart meter engineers to software developers to sales pros. At Octopus our talent partners become true generalists.
Sound like a weird mix of roles? It is. But that’s the fun of it. This is an opportunity for someone early ish in their recruitment journey who’s hungry to learn, isn’t afraid to get stuck in and loves the idea of doing a bit of everything.
We’re growing fast across the green careers space and that means hiring for all sorts of roles often at the same time. You might be sourcing 15 plumbers one week and helping hire a mid-level software engineer the next. We’re after someone who’s happy to flex, switch gears quickly and stay focused on giving every candidate an outrageously good experience they deserve.
You’ll be part of our core Talent team working closely with hiring managers as well as the global talent team to fill roles that really matter to us and to the planet - we have no egos, all roles are as important!
What you'll do
- Own hiring from start to finish for high volume operational roles (think Smart Meter Engineers, Sales Specialists, Warehouse, Drivers etc)
- Jump in whenever help is needed across hiring for mid level and specialist roles - no job too big, no job too small
- Volume hiring may become a little repetitive but this won’t phase you, you’ll thrive in getting things done
- Build proper relationships with hiring managers and really get under the skin of what they need (and why)
- Source brilliant candidates using job boards, headhunting, referrals, creative sourcing - whatever works. Our main sourcing tools are, LinkedIn, Lever talent pooling, Indeed, Otta, Events and Referrals.
- Keep candidates in the loop and make sure their experience is always good, no matter the outcome
- Work closely with our head of talent, other Talent Partners and Talent Leads to share learnings, fix things that are broken, and keep improving how we do what we do
What you'll need
- Experience in recruitment (in-house or agency) - ideally you’ve worked on multiple types of roles
- A flexible, helpful attitude - you're just as happy sourcing for 20 Smart Meter Engineers as you are running with a Finance Manager role
- Love communicating with all different types of people
- You’ll need to juggle different roles and priorities without dropping the ball
- A collaborative, open mindset - you’ll be part of a busy, supportive team where we all muck in
- The ability to thrive in fast-paced, slightly messy environments – we like people who can figure things out on the fly
